AU helps make ur lures FUZZY! Happy new year.
I was clinching my dam checks when I boat flipped this one. I kept repeating Caleb’s instructions “point the rod down, hold the spool”. 28” on da money boga had him at 9 lbs. #headandshoulders
You carry a compass while wading? Probably not. Well I’d highly suggest having one handy or at least making sure you have a compass app on your home. The fog rolled in on us in Baffin today while we were several hundred yards from the boat. That handy compass guided me right back to my boat with ease.
Finally joined up here! Looking forward to the fellas putting out killer content!
Want to give thanks to everyone in AnglerU for everything they do to put this together & for the knowledge & the friends I have made since joining this program want to wish everyone a happy holidays & merry Christmas 🎄🎅🏼🎁 & tight lines 🎣
The cool weather had the reds feeling frisky this morning in Freeport!!!!
12/20 fished the Upper Laguna following Capt. James report from last week, and headed for a shallow flat directly adjacent to a deep drop off. Water temp was in the low 60’s with a NNW wind and nice cloud cover. Started the morning fishing a corky in waist deep water which was producing small 10-12” trout. Switched to a 5” paddle tail and worked the bottom and as the minor got closer, this turned up several good size 22 - 23” trout but could not find one to bust the 25” mark. Towards the end of the minor the flat came alive with ducks flying and mullet popping. Saw a nervous mullet jumping for his life and threw right behind him and hooked up with a nice 26” red. Caught these fish using the bates salty hundo I won on the live stream (thanks AU!) hands down best reel out there.
I wish I was kidding when I said this has literally taken 10 hours and it’s still not done. I’m working on it tho! The squirrels are still peddling!
Had a very awesome day fishing with my son Kenneth and Captain Pat Gardner. We were even more lucky when Capt Caleb TV asked if he could join in and bring Jimmy to shoot some video for Angler U. For my son and it was a day for firsts as we both caught our first trout on a Corky Fat boy. We also got to watch and learn from two of the very best anglers on the Texas coast. I’ll share one lesson we learned right off the bat this morning. As we got to our first wading spot you could see a lot of nervous bait and we quickly jumped out of the boat and began to throw topwaters. After 10 minutes of no blowups Pat said to switch to corky fat boys which we did and right away we caught some fish. Kenneth asked Pat why the switch and Pat said with that much nervous bait and no blow ups it was clear the fish wanted something else. Switching quickly like that with all that bait was lesson one of the many we got today.
A special shout out to Angler U for helping to put this trip together.
