12/20 fished the Upper Laguna following Capt. James report from last week, and headed for a shallow flat directly adjacent to a deep drop off. Water temp was in the low 60βs with a NNW wind and nice cloud cover. Started the morning fishing a corky in waist deep water which was producing small 10-12β trout. Switched to a 5β paddle tail and worked the bottom and as the minor got closer, this turned up several good size 22 - 23β trout but could not find one to bust the 25β mark. Towards the end of the minor the flat came alive with ducks flying and mullet popping. Saw a nervous mullet jumping for his life and threw right behind him and hooked up with a nice 26β red. Caught these fish using the bates salty hundo I won on the live stream (thanks AU!) hands down best reel out there.
I wish I was kidding when I said this has literally taken 10 hours and itβs still not done. Iβm working on it tho! The squirrels are still peddling!
Caleb, I'm watching the live from you and Trevor, and wanted to ask what the site was that you used to to have the picture of your trout printed on metal? Sounds intresting
My buddy Jeff and I found a few good ones last weekend and did good enough for 3rd place and a check in the Redfish Rumble!!!!
Hey Larry, when do you expect to have your big curly tail tarpon grubs out? I need to place an order here in the near future to replenish my stock..Also what sizes, and colors? I was about to pull the trigger on some of the 8inch grubs from H&H but didnt know you were producing some now, so Id rather support you and KWigglers. Thanks!
One of the better trout we caught in POC recently..little over 26" and we released probably 10 to 12 trout over 20"...definitely been a good year so far, especially on the Bone One Knocker
Am I missing the link to the live stream from the other night?
Do you guys have the recording of the livestream with James and Mickey? Would love to watch it
This morning My son and I took the kayaks out and fished a new area that weβve never been to before. It is called Landers Marsh Preserve located on the south shoreline of Moses lake. It was a much bigger area than I anticipated. We ended up catching 2 slot reds, 1 slot trout, 1 drum, a couple of sand trout, a bunch of rat reds, and 1 flounder (yes they are real). A few were caught on a corky fat boy and the majority on Knockin Tail Lures 4β pink ice. Really like this location as it is protected from most winds and a short drive from Katy.
The weather was crazy, it was windy, cloudy, and kinda cold all morning. As we drove back into Houston the sun was out and it was beautiful outside.
