Braid is more effective than mono, in my opinion. The angler, along with the rod action controls most of the lure action and presentation. When it matters, a strike from a fish braid will be more responsive.

Good question. I’ve come to note you need, current (little at least) access to deep water, structure such as grass beds or even a little shell, accessible deep water, and a bottom that is subject to holding mud and preferred a little gravel. I realize this may sound like any other good fishing spot but time and historical data m (catching big females consistently in areas described) supports the fact these fish will likely spawn there.
